I need 13 people to respond to this post and let me know what you are thankful for RIGHT NOW that you didn't have last year or that you didn't know you'd be thankful for in a year's time. Got it? I'll go first...
1. I'm thankful for the 9th grade girls in my Discipleship Group. I only met them about a month ago and I already consider them a huge part of my life. If only I'd known this time last year that we'd be chillin' every other Wednesday and on Sunday nights and on Fall Retreat and various other times/places, then I don't think I could have waited a year to meet them.

I am thankful for this sweet little girl that is growing in my womb that I had NO IDEA would be here this Thanksgiving=)
I am thankful for a church that thinks those on the outside of her walls are just as important as those on the inside!

I am thankful for Alex. This time last year I was resolved to not being able to have another child....and here he is 8 weeks old! I am also thankful you endured the entire 9 months right beside me!!

Mary's question got me thinking. It was interesting for me because this year has been marked by disappointment and loss for us. But here's what I told her:
I'm thankful that Josh didn't get a job that I wanted for him so badly because it would've disconnected us from a community that has completely embraced us during a season of pain. I'm thankful for the ways that annoying trips to a colon specialist, disappointment in jobs, struggling to conceive, and a miscarriage have made my marriage so much stronger... that emotionally I'm more in love with my husband, that spiritually God has used Josh as a rock in my life to keep pointing me back to him, and that mentally I know that we can overcome what life throws our way. And mostly, I'm thankful that I'm able to be thankful right now! That may sound weird, but just 2-3 weeks ago I was in a really dark place where I was consumed with fear and anxiety and didn't know when I'd ever feel "normal" again. And today I'm overwhelmed with thankfulness. God has really renewed my spirit and restored my joy, and I am incredibly thankful for that.
I'm thankful to be conscious and employed (and thereby able to provide for and interact with my family). Happy Thanksgiving Sabrina!
I am thankful for COHEN!! This time last year we had just learned that he would die at birth.... And here we are this year with one more chair needed around the Thanksgiving table!!!! We certainly didn't know that we'd have THAT to be thankful for today.
I'm thankful that all of my family will be together for thanksgiving this year. It has been a while since we have all been in the same place at the same time for the holidays. Thanksgiving isn't the same without 19 people around the table.
I am thankful for my 2 boys...only having one this time last year and had no idea God would bless us again.

I am thankful for my sweet social little boy. I knew he was coming last Thanksgiving, but I had no idea his silly personality would add so much joy to my life!
I am also thankful for Dabo Sweeney for adding life back into the CU f-ball team :) LOL!!
Charley!
