We did it!

Kelly and I took a trip down to Charleston for the weekend and attempted the Cooper River Bridge Run. It's a 10K (6.2 miles) and we thought that we would run as far as we could and then finish out walking. However, once we got to the top of the bridge, we just had to run DOWN because as Lindsay has said, if you're going down hill, you might as well run. So, we ran down the hill, got to the bottom and decided to try and keep going. Before we knew it, we were at mile 5 and decided there was no way we could stop there, we only had 1.2 miles left! So, we kept going and made it to mile 6... just two tenths left of a mile left! So, the paper says we finished in 1 hour 41 min and 37 seconds, however, that's a bit off. First of all, we crossed the finish line almost 10 minutes after the race started (there were almost 29,000 people in the race so it took a while to get started) and then Kelly needed a bathroom break, which took almost 15 minutes b/c a lot of other people also needed a bathroom break. So... we guess that we finished the race in about an hour and 16 minutes. Not too shabby for two girls that aren't "serious" runners and who didn't train for this thing!
We did it!!

me, Kelly, Lindsay and Robert after the race Clemson peeps! Will, Paul, me, Kel and Jessica

Grace Church peeps: Caroline, Lane, Tracy, me and Whitney

Finally, I saw Kristi (expecting a little boy), Lee and Traci (expecting identical twin girls!)

It was such a fun day. I can definitely see why Lindsay likes races so much. Plus, I got to see a ton of people. Oh yeah, that night, Kelly and I were taken "restaurant hopping" by my brother. He's a chef in Chuck town and definitely knows his stuff. Good food, good fun and a full stomach!

Louis, Avery and I didn't register for the race and left about 40 min after it started, but we walked from Louis' parents house in Mt. Pleasant all the way to the other side of the bridge....we're guessing a little over 5 miles! It was so much fun and Avery did great...slept in her stroller on and off. So fun!
